“Iran played significant role in helping Bush get out of the iraq dilemma and avert defeat in this Arab country” — Now, where have I heard this preposterous line before? Ask those families of soldiers who have been maimed or murdered by those Iranian-made IED’s, or by those Quds-trained Iraqi insurgents how helpful the Iranians have been in Iraq. This is so delusional and ludicrous that it barely deserves a response.

Invading Iraq was not a mistake, nor was toppling Saddam Hussein — only the most committed antiwar leftists or anti-Americanists would still hold onto that absurd and discredited view.

As for America’s not having the “stomache” for invading Iran — there are those on the left who do not have the “stomache” to do anything at all to protect their own country. However, if I were Mr.Ahmadinejad, I would not be resting to comfortably tonight, and I would find that particular argument of yours of little solace.

Finally, your views of America and mine could not be more diametrically opposed.
And for that I am grateful.

I agree with the writer about what he said as there is high coordination between the Americans and Iranians on how to calm down the tension in Iraq .Iran played significant role in helping Bush get out of the iraq dilemma and avert defeat in this Arab country .Bush wars strengethened Iran as two of the Tehran ’s arch foes disappeared thanks to Bush : Afghan Taliban and iraq ’s saddam Hussein . furthermore the United States does not have stomache to repeat the same mistake it committed by invading Iraq and toppling Saddam Hussein.

Asghar – “The author should know, wrong american policies has created this disaster in middle east? ” It’s interesting to me that you ended that sentence with a question mark.

This author does know that the Islamic war which was declared against the West in general and the US in particular has absolutely nothing — repeat, absolutely nothing to do with our Middle East policies.

You, too, would know this if you had bothered to study the issues involved instead of mindlessly repeating those inane liberal talking points. This Islamic war against the West has been going on in recent history for at least 70 years, and in historical terms, for over a thousand years. But, we’ll just ignore all that, won’t we?

No doubts both iranian and american people and we are paying dearly because we don’t anticipate the consequences. Excellent analysis. Sources like The York Times have been warning us every few months since 2005 that Bush is “about to attack Iran” but they have their own political reasons for making such claims instead of staying within reality.
