Hat tip: Sister Toldjah

You know that the Court has mis-stepped when the most liberal individual in the Senate agrees with the Conservatives.

Here’s what Obama said:

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he disagrees with a Supreme Court decision striking down the death penalty for child rapists, telling reporters Wednesday that states should be able to execute people for “heinous” crimes.

“I think that the rape of small child, 6 or 8 years old, is a heinous crime,” the Illinois senator said. “And if a state makes a decision that under narrow, limited, well-defined circumstances the death penalty is at least potentially applicable, that does not violate our Constitution.”

Of course, from Obama’s point of view, withholding insufficient income from the tax man is sufficiently “narrow, limited, and well defined…” then it is your turn to become a meat windchime.

It is too late to prevent the child from being raped. Lock the bugger up, weld the bars shut. Arrange for strong electric shocks to be delivered at random intervals, with a control set which gives him a chance to avoid some of the shocks, so he has to pay attention, constantly. When he dies, fill the cell with concrete.

I don’t trust the government with the power of life or death.

But…killing a baby that survives an abortion is just okie dokie. Despite the issue at hand, in each case, it just sounds like he’s swinging for the most votes.

And know he can “change” his mind…after all, he’s all about the “chance”…

Should just strike down Capital Punishment. Period. 1) There is no chance to fix a mistake once done and 2) There is no chance to rehabilitate the person, ever and 3) Costs less.

I agree with Shannon. Although I would change #2 to: Statistically, minorities are more likely to be put to death for the same crimes that whites.

See this article. Oldie but a goodie. I’m sure that similar articles and studies have been done lately.
