There is already a big fight about that with democrats making it a politic issue instead of calling it what it would be...relief! You can bet that this is exactly what is going to make or break the candidates this year in the presidential election. It's got nothing to do with democrats or republicans. People need to take their blinders off! Punishing "big oil" is obviously as effective as shooting ourselves in the foot! Remember the same "whiners" saying the war in Iraq is all about the oil? If Clinton had signed ANWR rather than veto it his first term, a conservative estimate of new oil would be about 300 thousand barrels a day.ANWR is about new technology and a small footprint in the arctic. And for the misinformed, there are no mountains,precious streams or trees on the north slope. It is flat as far as the eye can see. Wildlife interacts and has the right of way. This has been my husband and my thoughts for years. He, too, works around oil fields. He's a piping designer and has good knowledge about how this all ties into what has been going on concerning our own oil fields, foreign oil, high gas prices, and coming food shortages, (already happening) and they all tie together in results of the global warming "threats." While mainstream media is talking about the coast of Alaska receding rapidly, I have personally witnessed it frozen solid on the same day. Don't get sucked into this crap. The earth has Ice ages about every 10,000 yrs. Between ice ages the earth warms. in the 70's they feared a coming ice age. People shunned for driving cars...we're suppose to take the bus or ride our bikes everywhere....Get rid of your gas sucking GT convertible and resort to an ugly shoe with boo-koo batteries and no ump so you can't pull your boat. BTW, get rid of the boat it's polluting our drinking water...do not enjoy life as God has given it to you to enjoy! Global warming? Up here? I say, bring it on!
