“Democrats have a common-sense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price-gouging; rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies; and increasing production of alternative fuels,” Pelosi wrote back in April 2006, as part of her efforts to convince Americans to elect Democrats.”

This just shows how ignorant Nancy Pelosi can be. The oil companies pay huge amounts of tax as it is and if “windfall profits” are taxed, only we at the pump will end up paying the taxes because the companies will cut production to avoid paying the unnecessary tax and the old supply and demand rule will go into effect, thus costing more at the pump. Shades of Jimmy Carter!!!

How stupid can congress be? Gasoline is a comodity like orange juice. Just talking about passing a bill to drill here would cause prices to fall. Comodity prices are subject to speculation.

One of the biggest problems we face is that we have so many Americans ignorant of what the Democrats have done and continue to do. They watch a snipit of Pelosi or Reid during a TV commercial between Jerry Springer and Oprah and not knowing the facts, believe them.

Nancy Pelosi is just another of the economic illiterati that populate the congressional corridors of power. I am convinced that nearly all of them are on the take, on mind-altering drugs, or both! There is simply no other explanation for their colossal stupidity where energy and economic policies are concerned.

Everyone says “Democrats” what about the republicans if they had any spine at all they would be pushing for better solutions. But, unfortunately they are spineless. (I vote republican!!!!)

communism does not work that is why the Soviet Union is dead and Zimbabwe is following. Let’s use free market capitalism to solve our problems. More supply means a lower price.

The total profit per gallon to the oil companies is .08 cents the same as it was in 1974. The total tax per gallon to the government is 1.15. WHATS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

I believe that drilling for our own oil is the right thing to do and should have been done years ago. Oil is what powers the world, that is why God gave humanity millions of years of plant, animal and sea life to live and die to develop the oil that lies beneth our feet long before man showed up on this planet. As for alternative fuels? Don’t waste your time or money on them as the unintended concequences far out weigh the benefits of these fuels. Nothing, NOTHING gives us (the consumer) more bang for the buck then OIL! The only thing that comes close is nuclear energy. Start drilling America!

I agree lets get it done. Lets get rid of the terrorist loving supreme court Judges. The copperheads are sprouting their heads. We need a President like Lincoln again.

We should have drilled in these areas years ago. I blame anyone who voted for a left winger. I just can’t understand how some people can be so thick. Let’s drill today!

It’s time we STOP the environmentalists and liberals once and for all! We can drill and drill clean. Let’s get started. If OPEC things we are serious about drilling domestically and we treat like the “Manhattan Project” of our time, prices will fall and fall quickly!

Drill Now for oil in the US

  17. mary bielewicz on June 18th, 2008 3:43 pm

dont let china and russia and others drill our oil. its ours, lets get going America.

  18. a ray on June 19th, 2008 8:52 am

have the environmentalists heard of global? If you drill and have a spill anywhere it effects the environment everywhere. So why would we trust others to do the drilling in place of ourselves? Let the speculators get their hands on the USA having their own oil supply……..

  19. allen Lucas on June 19th, 2008 11:07 am

Drill in USA and Drill now

  20. Tim Clark on June 19th, 2008 4:07 pm

Drill now! It is not an option. Let the Middle East be an exporter of sand. Prices need to come down so our automotive companies can sell cars. Otherwise we loose another resource and send the economy spiraling even more. If you don’t think the automotive industry is a direct correlation to our economy you are dead wrong.
