ACLU Draws Fire Over Judge Exercising Free Speech
Posted on May 30, 2008
So, because some anti-religious people are offended by the symbolism of the law represented by the Ten Commandments, and the ACLU make millions attacking this stuff, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati ordered Richland County Common Pleas Court Judge James DeWeese to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom in 2005. Instead, he expanded the expression of his ideas and the ACLU doesn’t like this kind of Constitutionally guaranteed stuff.
Framed on one side of the judge’s courtroom was the Bill of Rights. On the opposite wall was a poster titled, ‘Philosophies of Law and Conflict,’ which pits the Ten Commandments against seven moral relatives.
The poster containing the Ten Commandments also included a quote from DeWeese that read, “The cases passing through this courtroom demonstrate we are paying a high cost in increased crime and other social ills for moving from moral absolutism to moral relativism … Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people.”
The quote continued, “I join the founders in personally acknowledging the importance of almighty God’s fixed moral standards for restoring the moral fabric of this nation.”
Included with the poster was a note telling readers that they could receive an explanatory pamphlet by asking the receptionist. 10TV asked for and received the pamphlet, Fortney reported.
The receptionist supplied 10TV with a smaller copy of the poster, along with a pamphlet titled, ‘Philosophies of Law and Conflict.’
The ACLU released a statement regarding DeWeese’s courtoom poster.
“The judge’s attempt to change the message of the poster hanging on the wall makes it more of a violation because it’s clearly religious in nature,” the statement read.

God bless one good man who happens to be a judge.
And the government shall be upon His shoulders…
!
All that moron has done is show he is unable to be impartial. We really should thank him though. At least from the start we know this jackass believes any non-Christian to be morally deficient and unfit. His bigotry and prejudice is advertised, rather than hidden.
Sarah Bander – The only “moron and jackass” is you darlin’! Obviously you are a troll and fool for the ACLU lurking on this anti-ACLU site. This country is poorer for people like you!
This judge is a good man and shows how all of our laws are based.
If the ACLU is so high minded and interested in the welfare of the people of the USA then let them litigate without being on the dole. Let them get their lefty buddies to kick in for the job and we can all litigate to the doors of hell for all I care. I am just sick of paying for my country’s own destruction.
The fact that We, The People actually pay tax dollars for the ACLU to destroy everything we believe in is the most ludicrous exercise of stupidity I have EVER heard of! NO other country on earth would stand for this idiocy. We have GOT to stop it. Contact your congress people on this and other issues that need changing. Stay engaged or we will not have a country left.
