Democrat Congressman Admits Party Lied About Ending War to Win Election
Posted on May 23, 2008
“I’ll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we…the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn’t say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn’t true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts…and people ate it up.”
Do we have little integrity problem here? I think so.
Hat tip: Lobo via Jeff Emanuel who has a great post up on this.
Now, thanks to Mr. Kanjorski, that cat is out of the bag. He had better hope that those poor students of government are equally poor watchers of YouTube and followers of the news, or else the veneer of the Democrat promises on Iraq will be long gone, courtesy of his honesty problem.
This won’t sit well with the nutroots and other assorted anti-war throwbacks. They’ve beem flim-flammed! Hoodwinked! Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, leaders of the Congress with the worst approval rating in thie history of Congressional approval ratings, led them right up to the pit full of burned paper and kicked in the ash hole.
And can’t you just hear the gnashing of teeth when they read what he said a bit more closely and realize how utterly demeaning he was to them. Basically, he said that anyone who’s spent some time learning about how our government works would have seen through the ruse and he’s exactly right. That happens to be true, but it’s going to be bitter, bitter medicine going down.
Remember how cynical the Democratic leadership is while remembering fallen veterans this Memorial Day Weekend.
I’m sure Rep. Kanjorski’s colleagues won’t appreciate his honesty.
As Krusty the Klown once remarked, “Oh crap, I said the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud!”

I saw that and posted it, too….disgusting, ain’t it?
Of course, since all Democrats are liars, we have that interesting conundrum: is Kanjorski lying about the Democrats lying? That would mean they were telling the truth, which is impossible, which means that Kanjorski is telling the truth, which is equally as impossible. It hurts.
I wish I could say that this surprises me but who among us actually thought they would repeat the ‘74-5 Vietnam “cut off funding” strategery with the 2008 elections so close by?
Not only did the Democrats say it, but the Democrats used the war for partisan purposes.
A recent study by two Harvard economists shows that public dissent in the United States has caused increased attacks against civilians and American soldiers in Iraq, so for the purposes of obtining partisan advantage, the Democrats in Congress found nothing wrong with putting American servicemen and Iraqi civilians in danger. And now, they joke about it.
This is shameful .. and unpatriotic.
