Is It All Over for Hillary?
Posted on May 6, 2008
Update: Hillary isn’t hearing the song. She just said its full speed to the White House. An uphill one though.
Jim Geraghty said the media would start their chorus that its over for Hillary tomorrow. Well, let the song begin a little early.
The North Carolina results do not suggest any significant erosion in Obama’s standing in the state during what has been a very rough few weeks for him.
This alone is enough to derail the Clinton strategy. A win in North Carolina would have been powerful evidence that Democrats are turning on Obama and that the character attacks had rendered him unelectable. A very narrow loss might have helped the Clintons make this case as well. But a landslide defeat?…
North Carolina also essentially locks in Obama’s edge in the popular vote. His margin should undo whatever benefit Clinton reaped from her win in Pennsylvania. No fair and reasonable calculation of the cumulative popular vote at the end of this process will show Clinton ahead. It is now mathematically inconceivable.
Against these realities, the Indiana results almost don’t matter. Obviously, if Obama ends up ahead when all the votes are tallied, the race will end on the spot, and Clinton won’t even have license to pursue meaningless wins in West Virginia and Kentucky. But even if Clinton hangs on, it will be for show.
The name of the song is…its over, move along. I can think of nothing realistic that should keep her in. The question is whether Hillary will listen to the music. I doubt she will. She’s running for 2012 now.
Michelle Malkin says its game over, and Rick Moran is on the same sheet of music. Betsy begs her stay.

One Response to “Is It All Over for Hillary?”

No it is not over for her and with all his negative press due to the people he associates with I am sure more will come out in the next weeks about him as we knew so little.
Hillary has many supporters and we want her to keep going as that is democracy as he does not have enough votes nor does she.
I say let the people decided and stop trying to push her out. No offense but after his whining on being asked to talk about issues that has been negative in his campaign I was turned off. What did he think would happen and he needs to address it if he want to be the nominee and win the General Election. My goodness he has NO idea what the fall and how the Rep’s will attack him more then this.
Time to man up I say or get out.
