Fred Thompson: Would Not Accept Vice President
Posted on April 25, 2008
I’m disappointed, but not surprised. Some would argue he didn’t want the job of president. I don’t think thats true, and while I was a big Fred head, I don’t think he would be the best choice for McCain’s VP. He needs to pick someone younger and more energetic to contrast, especially going against a youthful, energetic Obama. Maybe he’ll ask Mitt Romney, but I’m not sure McCain will be comfortable with his former pro-choice stance. Maybe Sanford or Christ. Huckabee is trying for it, but I’m hoping McCain doesn’t make that mistake. I sure wish more people would have gotten behind him for president though. Watch the whole video…he does indeed rip Obama apart as well.
“That’s not in the cards,” Thompson said. “That’s not what I want. Well…and I don’t think that call [from McCain] would ever happen. I think John needs somebody else. I would advise him if he asked me that he needs someone else, of a different profile. The presidency is the only job in town that’s worth going through what you got to go through to get it, including the vice presidency….”
