I live in Philadelphia but I am from a small town in Oklahoma. People from small towns don't cling to guns and distrust government. We were raised with guns in our homes. We use them for sport. It is our way of life. That may seem alien to Allen Combs, but that is just how it is. We don't believe in big government and neither did most of the founding fathers. I have found that people in small towns are even more "accepting" because we actually know our neighbors. This type of generalization of working class people in small towns is as pathetic as it is ridiculous. Call me crazy but my little home town in Oklahoma looks pretty good from where I stand in crime ridden Philadelphia.

you are so right....obama has a big problem that isn't going to go away anytime soon, especially since this "problem" just joined forces with all the other problems that he has recently created like *wright, ayers, said, michelle obama et al.*
i hear they are forming a club.......
and now here comes the uber annoying alan colmes and he now has a very big problem too, after all it's one thing to be a very slick candidate, it's another to be a commentator that we all think IS JUST is highly annoying, but then we find out [no surprise here] that he also feels that most of america is beneath him.
good to know.
now fox news should kick his beavus/butthead look alike butt to the curb.

At what point do the "bitter" people in PA and elsewhere realize that they have, in many cases, been represented by Democrats for decades.

And that the job approval for congress is even lower than the current POTUS.

ps Try telling the union workers in Peoria, IL that the Columbia free trade is bad for them.

You're simplifying this issue because you hate Obama. If you listen to his clarifying remarks he makes it clear;

"They feel like they have been left behind. They feel like nobody is paying attention to what they're going through. So I said well you know when you're bitter you turn to what you can count on. So people they vote about guns, or they take comfort from their faith and their family and their community. And they get mad about illegal immigrants who are coming over to this country or they get frustrated about you know how things are changing.
"That's a natural response.
"And now I didn't say it as well as I should have because you know the truth is is that these traditions that are passed on from generation to generation those are important. That's what sustains us.
"But what is absolutely true is that people don't feel like they are being listened to.
"And so they pray and they count on each other and they count on their families. You know this in your own lives and what we need is a government that is actually paying attention. Government that is fighting for working people day in and day out making sure that we are trying to allow them to live out the American dream.
