Please Bloomberg, do it, please run
CNS News: Here Comes the Mayor – Bloomberg, That Is
As if the 2008 presidential race isn’t chaotic enough, a “Draft Bloomberg Committee” is now “encouraging” New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to enter the fray.
Committee founders Doug Bailey, a former GOP consultant and the Hotline founder, and Gerald Rafshoon, a Democrat who worked as communications director in the Carter White House, said Tuesday that Bloomberg is “the “solution to a broken two-party political system that no longer serves the American people.”
Bailey called Bloomberg a unique person for a unique time in history.
Bloomberg is a lifelong Democrat who became a Republican to run for New York City mayor in 2001. He was reelected to a second term (as a Republican) in 2005. He’s expected to run for president as an Independent, and he’s wealthy enough to finance his own campaign.
I’ve gotta go Andy Rooney here…you ever notice that when there is talk of “unity” or a “third way” or “transcending political party labels,” it invariably means “elect Leftists?” It’s kind of like what feminists really mean when they want to make kids toys “gender neutral” — it always means forcing boys to play with dolls.
Obama is the perfect example, as JJR points out below. If there are “two ways” from which a “third way” would be distinguished, Obama’s “three ways” are Right, Left and Extreme Left. What gap bridge do his positions offer? He would, without a doubt be the most far Left candidate ever nominated for president by either party should he somehow overcome the Clinton attack machine.
Bloomberg offers about the same menu as Obama with distinctively fascist side orders — banning smoking and trans fats…for the good of the people, natch. Of course, Bloomberg, a flaming Leftist despite his business success, is called “non-ideological” by his flaks. He’s about as non-ideological as Newt Gingrich.
Please mayor, run. Spend gobs of your own money to do so. You will help elect a Republican.

i guess you arent aware that bloomberg is a republican.
No Billy.. obviously you can’t read and you don’t watch the news. Bloomberg has been a lifelong Democrat who switched parties to run for Mayor of New York City. After he was re-elected, he then left the Republican Party and is now claiming Independent status.
Did you Graduate High School? If so I’d bank that it was a public school where the ability to read isn’t a requirement for graduation any longer.
