McCain Wins New Hampshire
Posted on January 8, 2008
Most of the News are calling it for McCain. Allahpundit says this is a disaster for Romney! He thinks it’s all over for the GOP now. Oh well, maybe we should be telling the Mitt heads to come over to Fred.
However, this doesn’t mean it’s over for the GOP or for Mitt. All the talking heads have talked about how important these first two states are, like they are the only ones that get to decide.
First off, this win means nothing for McCain. He won it before, and he will fade. Rush will continue to expose Huckabee as a liberal as well.
Rusty explains why it isn’t over yet.
It’s simple math, really, which is why I guess most pundits can’t figure this out. Primaries, in most states, aren’t run on a winner-take-all system, as are the general Presidential elections in all but two states. They have proportional delegate election schemes of one sort or another.
Because of this, Mitt Romney is still in the lead. As it stands now, Romney has 26 delegates to the Republican convention next summer, and Huckabee only has 20. Third place? Fred Thompson with 6. Coming in a distant fourth is Ron Paul with 2.
Now, the press will beat Romney up over this, and it does show that money isn’t everything in politics. However, the process is much more complicated than pundits ever give it credit for. It has been unpredictable so far, and I think it will continue to be so.
I’m continuing to support Fred Thompson. Romney has enough cash to stay in to the end. If Fred drops out, that is when I will consider Romney.
Michelle Malkin reminds us how much McCain sucks.

Though I personally am not sure if Romney’s sudden changes of heart in the direction of conservatism miraculously before the beginning of his campaign is genuine, apparently the press believes they are, and anyone that conservative is dangerous – so they have launched an all out attack against him.
