Anyone who's caught reading the issues for the first time while in line to vote should be thrown out. Those people not only don't know the issues and candidates, they're the ones who keep the lines long because they don't know what they're voting for.

By the time I'm in line, I know exactly who and what to vote for. It takes me maybe a minute to make my selections. If you can't do that, do the country a favor and don't vote.

BTW, all of my kids are informed about candidates and issues because I educate them. I constantly fight the brain-washing of the mediocre, moonbat public school system. My 15 and 16 year olds are just as capable of voting as my 21 year old. They get lots of practice debating as the token conservatives in their classes.

danny,

You sure put a lot more faith in our crummy schools than do I!! Our educational system is one of the worst in the civilized world, so I wouldn't assume any person with a "real college degree" is any smarter than a bright 10 year-old!

Let's restrict the vote to folks with the knowledge and an actual vested interest in the outcome.

I agree, but you don't go far enough. Why stop with age? I think you should need a college degree to vote. And not some 2-year bull degree, a real college degree. And 3 letters of recommendation.

Damn Strait! The essence of liberal democracy is the increasing restriction of the rights of others.

Besides, democracy is an inherently unattainable concept. Better it should remain high on its pedestal than stretched ever so thinly amongst the toothless masses.

Of Course they want kids to have the vote. Those kids are in college, being indoctrinated by the increasingly virulent leftist academia. What a Perfect time to get them out to vote!

You have a valid point. There are so many uniformed sheept to the slaughter that just pull the D or R handle and move out, not really knowing the issues. Its good to see the under 21s involved in the process, and hopefully in later years it makes them better citizens .. but some things just come better with a bit of age on them.
