Easy way to point out difference. Islamists want to create a Caliphate or world government that enforces Sharia law.

Christ states that "my Kingdom is not of this world". Christ's kingdom resides in the hearts of the believers. Christians fight for the freedom to practice and live their religion, not force others to convert.

The point of the "Daily Kos" article is well taken and far from being a "tired worn out argument". Rather it is a more realistic scrutiny that religions, Christianity included, are now exposed to, heightened by post 9/11 changes in public opinion.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism all spring from the same culture of Abraham, and are painfully similar in their beliefs, especially their propensity towards violence, and intolerance of the beliefs of others. Any belief sysem i.e. Christianity, based primarily on dogma will always be incompatible with democracy. What do you think the Catholic Church would do if a group of its members wanted an election do decide issues such as stem cell research or premarital sex. No one member, one vote there.

A true "tired and worn out" canard of Christians is that Wesrtern Civilization is based on Judeo-Christian values. Western Civilization is based overwhelmingly on the laws, philosophy, and engineering of the ROMANS and the shoulders of the other classical civilizations whose shoulders they stood upon. Sorry but the game plan for Chritianity is and will always be the Holy Bible with all its violence and inconsistencies

Happy Yule and Winter Solstice to you All!
