I hope that when Duncan Hunter drops out of the race you can support Thompson. It has nothing to do with not supporting a conservative candidate. It, unfortunately, has to do with making oneself noticed as well. The race for President, in the end, is a balance between the issues/principles and a popularity contest. Its unfortunate, but Duncan Hunter has just been unable to gain any traction on the important factor of popularity. It is unfortunate, but a hard truth, that factor ends up mattering so much. No one is giving up on Duncan Hunter though. Get him out there grabbing attention and he can still take over with a sudden surge I'm sure. I'd be happy to get behind that surge. Someone has to make that miracle happen though, and I'm sorry, but I doubt seeing it. At this point, supporting Thompson seems to have better chances at getting a true conservative into a winning posisition...and it may be a long shot as well. He is a bit short in actually doing anything to back up any social conservative claims he makes. I looked at all the bills he sponsored in the 107th Congress and only found one social conservative bill he sponsored or cosponsored. That was in regards to the Pledge of allegiance. Ya Right!
