Fred Thompson: Hands Down
Posted on December 13, 2007
I asked yesterday, “who won?”. The initial post-debate reactions were divided between Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney. Mitt did a good job, but Fred needed a good performance to stay in the game. Therefore, I think Fred took more benefit away from the debate. Given that, I would call him the overall winner. The clip of him refusing the confines of the “hand show” went viral, and he came off with several nice one liners. Fred isn’t sitting back on that success. He is taking the momentum it provides to push harder.
Hopefully this good performance will build momentum. Fred needs it.
Is it possible that Thompson could be the comeback kid? … I think it’s pretty clear by now that Thompson is running his campaign the way he said he would. He’s not worried about the media, pundits or the traditional political game as we know it. He’s going to do things his way and talk about substantive issues. Look, he’s a serious guy and these are serious times. Thompson seems to be hitting his stride pretty well now. The question is, “Is it too late?†Who knows? The Huckabee craze could wear off with the increased scrutiny. Romney’s national numbers haven’t moved much and Giuliani has been trending downward. Something tells me we haven’t heard the last from Thompson.
Also impressive: Once again, Thompson the only one that passes muster at Factcheck.org

The only thing that I can say about this video is that the voice-over guy is BAD. Very bad.
I’m beginning to like Fred Thompson. He reminds me of a very statesmanlike Eisenhower.I think the polls and so-called standings will take a back seat to reality – someone who is knowledgeable about the issues to speak directly to them. I’ve watched all the candidates and heard them state their statements and, like I said; I’m starting to like Fred Thompson.
That’s funny. Ike was the man who ‘directed’ the end of Adolfo.
Freddy The Scriptreader gets directed by others.
Ike was a military hero.
Freddy hid in mommy’s make-up room during Vietnam.
Ike was an outstanding college athlete, played football vs Jim Thorpe.
Freddy was a 6′6″ ‘home ec’ stalwart.
Freddy should “state those statements” somewhere else.
Ever heard of Upper Volta?
WhyWhyWick! needs to get his facts straight. From Fred08.com
‘Thompson, married while still in high school and graduated in 1960, would be the first member of his family to go on to college. He earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy and political science from Memphis State University in 1964 and his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1967, working his way through school.’
Fred Thompson was a young married man *and father* in college and law school. He was married in 1959 at age 17. So he had a deferment from Vietnam. The war was from 1960-1973.
Lets remember that the word “momentum” in an election means that cattle who use their ballot like so much toilet paper in voting with who appears to be leading instead of voting for who’s the best candidate through honest and reasonable research is a mindnumbing practice which is pathetically revolting and they should be rightly singled out and ridiculed for the sheep that they are.
With the internet the information is not only free of charge it is also right in their very own homes and no one has the excuse not to know what their responsibilities are.
With citizens like these, we don’t need comrades.
Who is this old punk Weaki??
Ya’ know, there’s nothing worse than an old punk because even their virtual drool wreaks of halitosis.
