Alan Keyes to Be Included In Last Republican Debate

Byron York:

It’s not clear why the Des Moines Register, which is conducting the debate, decided to include Keyes at this stage of the race. But it’s probably safe to say that the rhetorically brilliant but might-say-anything Keyes will shake things up. In a good way? That remains to be seen.

It will be interesting to see if and how Keyes shakes things up, given that he is allowed enough opportunity to speak. However, I’m not wondering why the Des Moines Register has included him. I’m more curious as to why he has been excluded in the past. I’ve pointed out before that if he were a liberal put in that situation the race card would have been played long ago.

He was most likely excluded because of dirty politics. He may actually be included this time for the same reason. That is how our politics work too many times.
