Kucinich and Ron Paul Ticket?
Posted on November 27, 2007
If this were to happen it would surely be a sign of the apocalypse. No?
Call it the liberal-libertarian ticket, where left meets right and Democrat Dennis Kucinich picks Republican Ron Paul to be his vice president.
Kucinich, the Cleveland congressman running in a longshot bid to become president, suggested it himself Sunday.
“I’m thinking about Ron Paul” as a running mate, Kucinich told a crowd of about 70 supporters at a house party here, one of numerous stops throughout New Hampshire over the Thanksgiving weekend. A Kucinich-Paul administration could bring people together “to balance the energies in this country,” Kucinich said.
It would create a stunning, if dizzying, blend of beliefs, wedding two politicians who hold different views on abortion rights, the role of government in providing health care, and the use of government in fostering — or hampering — the publics’ greater good. Those are among the reasons it would never work, said a spokesman for Paul, a Texas congressman and doctor.
“Dr. Paul and Rep. Kucinich are friends and there is a lot of mutual respect,” Paul communications director Jesse Benton said in an e-mail when asked whether a running-mate spot on the Kucinich ticket would be attractive to Paul. “They have worked, and will continue to work, together on ending the war and protecting civil liberties.
“However, Ron wants to substantially cut the size and scope of the federal government. There are too many differences on issues such as taxes and spending to think a joint ticket would be possible.”

This would be the tin-foil hat wearers’ wet dream. A double kook ticket.
ufo guy meets troofer. Cut and run and run and Run guy blame America Always guy.
Gribbit, otter……Please get informed about the two candidates…..it’s all about protecting our Constitution. The issues will be debated in Congress.
billie~ I read every day, on a score of sites. I’ve even read these guy’s websites. I AM NOT CONVINCED that they are going to protect our Constitution. I have NO intention of voting for a man who claims the US had been bombing Iraq for 10 years prior to 9-11 making the attack Our fault, nor for a man who cheerfully stabs our troops in the back.
Wow! ……otter….you’re as confusing as our top tier fron runners…..Kucinich 08…Means vote your concience.
You didn’t hear? He recanted and confessed that he knows they really hate us for our freedoms.
If that Socialists scum-bag Kucinich were to jump on the Ron Paul express, I would surly jump off. I want NOTHING to do with that guy.
And if Paul doesn’t get the Nomination, I will either write his name in or Pat Buchanan’s.
gribbet, you and I are Alone in the common sense department today.
Paul / Kucinich ticket will be more like it.
Sometimes other issues can actually outweigh having completely opposite views on domestic spending. Issues such as an illegal war for oil (which has killed over a million innocent people so far) and the trampling of the Constitution by spying on citizens and ignoring due process. It would throw a wrench in the gears of a currupt government system fueled by special interests. Its time.
