What Huckabee said about Thompson was based on what he really did.
BUt, what Thompson said about Huckabee is not based on truth.
I wish Thompson had studied more about Huckabee rather than depending on hearsay.

The main issue to me here is that Thompson needs to get his facts straight and be more informed. he once called Russia, the Soviet Union in 2007! I have listened to Huckabee and read his stands on issues. He has never supported sanctuary cities or amnesty. He wants a border fence and punishment for illegal employers.

Brett, I see nothing in Fred Thompson that shows he isnâ€™t principled.

Take a closer look. Here are his stated principles. Here are his stated positions. It didn't take but a minute to find his first inconsistency, so I bet I could find a contradiction to every one of his principles if I bothered to look. Principle: Government must be...limited by the delineated powers in the Constitution. Principle: Our Constitution innovatively guarantees our liberties by spreading power...between the federal government and the states. Position: Promoting transparency to assess performance, promote accountability, and share innovations in education at all levels. I just double-checked the Constitution and the word "education" still doesn't appear*. Republicans used to fiercely oppose this department. I guess it's cool now. So it appears Fred not only wants to keep the ED, but he also wants to keep fiddling with it. Position: Encouraging students and teachers to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathâ€”fields that are crucial to our security, competitiveness, and prosperity. Yay for subsidies! Last time I checked, those were all pretty lucrative fields. Apparently, Fred believes they deserve even more. So much so that he's going to take our tax money and spend it on them. I suppose it would be a good time to mention his "free market" "principle". Principle: Free people are best equipped to order their own affairs Except, apparently, when the President decides that some people need to be "encouraged". And that's just a sampling of the things he's proud enough to list on his site. I can only imagine how many pages you could fill with a thorough debunking of his "principles". If you like his positions, more power to you. It's your call, of course. But let's be honest with each other about what he really stands for.

Fred Thompson has ruined his chances at the nomination. He is not good under pressure. Perhaps he could fill a cabinet position. He makes too many mistakes in debates and in interviews.

When will they start to go his way? He still polls at number two or three. Romney sunk a lot of money and time in the primary states, and somehow Rudy continues to surf on top. Why are people not waking up to how liberal Rudy is?

Jay, nothing I have read, seen, or heard leads me to think FDT is not unprincipled. Is there something you guys know that I don’t? I’m open to any new information. The Office of the Presidency needs a principled leader, so if I’m wrong, I’ll be happy to consider any and all available facts.

Otherwise, the onus is on those claiming that another person is unprincipled to prove their positions (not the other way around).

I like few of the candidates although I do favor a couple over the others, but I have to agree with Jay here, once the primaries are over everyone can get behind the one chosen.

All the candidates except Paul, in my opinion, are better than any of the Democratic candidates that I have seen.
