Foiled Terror Attack at Nuclear Power Plant?

Thats the question being asked at Jawa Report, where I lifted the title of this post.

Here is the news.

Security officials at the nation’s largest nuclear power plant detained a contract worker with a small explosive device in the back of his pickup truck Friday, authorities said.

The worker was stopped and detained at the entrance of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, said U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission spokesman Victor Dricks. Security officials then put the nuclear station on lockdown, prohibiting anyone from entering or leaving the facility.

Authorities described the device as a small capped pipe that contained suspicious residue.

Rusty thinks this will turn out to be no big deal. I hope he is right.

Meanwhile a slow Kender is seriously worried it is indeed, a dry run, but will save his final decision until more info is available

You fret over plots that aren’t sophisticated enough to get by the rent-a-cops?

Who said I was fretting Jeff?

Fretting that it might be more serious than it looks, jeff?

Sorry, Jay. I guess I meant to address that to Kender.

Well, Otter, look at the past 6 years. More often than not, the terrorism plots turn out to be less serious than they first look.

I see this as yet another example that police work works. Not every time of course, but often enough.

This was never suggested to be a terrorist plot from what I have heard. The pipe bomb in question was too small for intent.
