So they get lump sums of cash, without paying taxes, send there kids to the public school system on subsidized meals programs, and utilize Medi-Cal for health insurance at the taxpayers expense. The used to stand around 47th Avenue and Martin Luther King Blvd looking for work. I talked to some of the guys while pumping gas one day, they told me that their going rate is a minimum of $10 dollars an hour.
