Fred Thompson Puts Chris Matthews In His Place
Posted on October 9, 2007
Another humerous one liner from Fred Thompson. A nice quip after Matthews says his answer should have just “stopped at no.” He responded, “No one asked your opinion, Christopher.” Its all in the tone. Watch.

Thanks to Hot Air for the video.
As moderator, Chris Matthews intruded himself into the proceedings following a Fred Thompson answer on a possible Chrysler strike by saying that Fred Thompson went on too long and would have been better off just saying “No” and stopping there. I’ve never seen such a blatant act of obnoxious misbehavior during a debate. Ever
That was the game behind the debate, and Thompson stomped Matthews into a laughingstock. In the rest of the debate, Thompson showed that he was comfortable and prepared, even for the silly attacks from other candidates. Mitt Romney went into a long, telegraphed, and obviously gag-written punch about how the debates resemble “Law and Order” and how Fred shows up last, which Fred neatly returned by feigning surprise that he wasn’t the best actor on the stage — jabbing at Romney’s perceived plasticness.

They all should have taken shots at Matthews for having the audacity to actually host the debate in the first place, after his comments last week.
The best Matthews slam probably would have been good for at least 5 or 6 points in the polls.
chris matthews has long been insignificant, but he is now careening toward “has-been” status. Perhaps he will be able to grab a hosting gig on the “where are they now” shows on the upper cable channels.
chris matthews is a worthless lib who does not need to be doing the debates. worthless
