ACLU child rape and torture enthusiast to plead guilty

Former ACLU of Virginia prez Charles Rust-Tierney, an ACLU board member until the day he was picked up for propagating the child rape and torture business, looks like he’ll plead guilty.

AP: Former ACLU leader makes plea deal

A former president of the Virginia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is expected to plead guilty to criminal charges stemming from his arrest on child pornography possession charges, according to court records.

A judge in U.S. District Court in Alexandria scheduled a June 1 plea agreement hearing for Charles Rust-Tierney, 51, of Arlington. It was not clear what charges would be included in the plea agreement.

A grand jury indicted Rust-Tierney this month on one count each of receipt and possession of child pornography. A conviction at trial on both counts could have resulted in a prison sentence of 11 to 14 years, according to federal sentencing guidelines.

Rust-Tierney, who also coached Little League baseball in Arlington, has been in jail since his arrest. At pretrial hearings, two judges refused to grant bail, describing the pornography in question as some of the most sickening they had ever encountered.

Prosecutors said in court documents that Rust-Tierney spent nearly $1,000 between March 2005 and October 2006 on child pornography ordered over the Internet.

His lawyer did not return calls seeking comment.

Rust-Tierney was president of the ACLU’s Virginia chapter from 2002 through 2005, according to the organization’s newsletters. Court records state that Rust-Tierney had been working in the D.C. public defender’s office and that he served one year as president of Arlington Little League.

As we know, Rust-Tierney (what’s up with a dude with a hyphenated name anyway) was a big proponent of unfettered porn access in libraries for kids. Presumably, he was hoping to help himself get some kindergartners fluffed before the REAL FUN began!

Of course, there is still a virtual media blackout on this. Compare this to the coverage of Ted Haggard, an adult, visiting an adult male prostitute. Oh, I think I get it…Haggard was a “hypocrite” because he was a pastor and advocated to retain the definition of marriage as it’s always been understood in this country. Meanwhile, Rusty Chuckles was just carrying company policy out to its logical end. I mean , the ACLU has always stood strong for the “right” to view and possess child porn, including that which depicts brutal torture of toddlers. Hey, if it’s ALREADY made, there is a “First Amendment right” to build a library of it, right ACLU? That must be it…the ACLUer wasn’t being a hypocrite…that’s why there’s no news coverage.

Riehl World View has a good post on this from earlier in the month: ACLU’s Charles Rust-Tierney: Case Simply Bizarre

“Chuck is the kindest, most gentle human being you could imagine,” one supporter, Alexandria lawyer Phil Hirschkop, said in an interview. “I have no problem with him being with my children or grandchildren, whatever he’s charged with.”

Friends of Rusty Chuckles (I think that was his balloon-bending kid-party clown name) would have no reservations about leaving him alone with their kids and grandkids!?!? Only on the Left. Again, no one is a hypocrite here, so it OK, it’s all…O…K…

    Dear Sir:
The first “red flag” regarding this man should have been his association with and position at the ACLU.
Their background is anti-Christian and Communist. The ACLU’s President, Nadine, has written a book titled “Defending Pornography”. Their executive director is an admitted, practicing gay activist. The organization has defended NAMBLA, child pornography, nudists camps where underage kids attended, and etc..
Irregardless of one’s personal or religious beliefs, how many signs does one need to discern that there may be, at best, a morality problem with children? Parents especially, should make it their business to know who is working among their children and who has authority and control over their kids. Being tolerant has its’ limits. Thanks cc

My trackbacks can’t get through your spam filter. See message below. Stopping the ACLU is something I’m very interested in, and I would like to link back to your important work, BUT the trackback seldom works. HELP!

I rather think that “Phil” is being PC. Betcha if the molester
was in actual contact with his kids, it would be a different story.
