Las Vegas Sun: Immigration-Related Cases Swamp Courts
Immigration-related felony cases are swamping federal courts along the Southwest border, forcing judges to handle hundreds more cases than their peers elsewhere.
Judges in the five, mostly rural judicial districts on the border carry the heaviest felony caseloads in the nation. Each judge in New Mexico, which ranked first, handled an average of 397 felony cases last year, compared with the national average of 84.
Federal judges in those five districts – Southern and Western Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California – handled one-third of all the felonies prosecuted in the nation’s 94 federal judicial districts in 2005, according to federal court statistics.
While Congress has increased the number of border patrol officers, the pace of the law enforcement has eclipsed the resources for the court system.
Judges say they are stretched to the limit with cases involving drug trafficking or illegal immigrants who have also committed serious crimes. Judges say they need help.
…and the ACLU has done all it can to make sure our borders are a wide-open, come-one-come-all sieve for violent felons and OTM terrorists as well. And of course when they get here, the ACLU is more than at-the-ready to make sure we are all powerless to defend against this criminal invasion. Just look at the volley of attacks on localities that have passed common sense laws to protect their citizens and comply with federal immigration laws (laws of course not even enforced by the feds themselves).
Sure, many people do come here to take advantage of the American Bounty and I would have no problem with them coming here legally to do so. Maybe there should be an easier way for people to do that. BUT, there should also be a way for the nation to protect itself against the crime wave from without.
Too bad we have a Fifth Column in this country led by the ACLU and a bunch of weak-kneed politicians (the president is the poster boy on this one) unwilling to do the only duty the federal government has any business doing in the first place — protecting our nation and its sovereignty against all enemies foreign and domestic.

Bush is the greatest enhancer of of illegal immigration in the history of the U.S. His border security and immigration policies are a disgrace. His failure in this area will follow him to his death.
Bush is not alone in this endeavor. I believe that the elites are either naive or lying about this issue. I am leaning towards lying. I have a family member who was replaced by an illegal and put out of work for 26 weeks now. A number of the firms in the Baltimore area are using illegal alien plumbers and electricians and displacing those with licenses. It is not just that they crossed the border and broke immigration law. It is that they are not paying taxes and they are given a pass on the breaking of laws.
