More projection

Those who condemn followers of the God of Love as being haters are just accusing others of their own dark motives. Homosexual entertainer Elton John is just one more example of these sad “projectors”:

“CNN Headline News ran a repeat of Glenn Beck’s March 27 show, which showed footage of some of the images that ran behind Elton John during his elaborate 60th birthday bash at Madison Square Garden that included a burning church. This is the same man who said that religion promotes hatred and “it’s not very compassionate.” Beck discussed the very tolerant and “compassionate” concert:

On Sunday, he performed — it`s the lord`s day — at Madison Square Garden with this image running behind him. Yes, that would be a burning church. Now, I know you`re at home thinking, “Gee, Glenn, isn`t Elton John the guy who said he`d ban all religion because it turns people into hateful lemmings?” Yes, same guy.

Talk about projecting one’s own hatefulness! Do you know the context
of the clip? No. The song for which the clip was illustrative? No.
Has Elton gone on record with his intent? No. Any details at all?
No, you’re just assuming that that’s the only thing it could possibly
    mean.

It “means”: There was a church on fire and they showed it as entertainment. Motives became unimportant in light of actions (if one could be so generous as to ascribe any possible positive motive for a thing like that.) If you slap me in the face, I really don’t care if you are thinking nice thoughts when you do it. If you show a picture of the slap to others at a big party, they just see the slap and the insult is magnified and in our culture, popularized. Well, he is a “pop” artist.

While I never would have put it so poetically,it did not take Elton John or anyone else to point out to me that “religion promotes hatred” and “turns people into hateful lemmings.”

It is a fact; clear as day; religion is devisive, preaches intolerance, disrepect and ultimately hatred.

But by classifiyng all religion as such, are you not guilty of the same thing you are accusing religion of doing? Would really love to hear how those traits apply to religions that teach hard core pacifism and love. There are zealots who pervert religion to promate hatred. There are Anti-religion fanatics who are their mirror image, decrying all who dare to think a different way. Bit of the pot calling the kettle black.

So, who taught Elton John his intolerance? The Church of England? Because he is clearly intolerant of those who believe. Or is that too hard for you all to grasp?

    Thought so…..
