SELINSGROVE, Pa. — Alliance Defense Fund Senior Legal Counsel Mike Johnson will debate American Civil Liberties Union President Nadine Strossen at 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday on the topic of whether government should regulate adult pornography in order to protect children and their communities.
“The government has a legitimate interest in protecting children from exposure to pornography,†Johnson said. “The Constitution does not prohibit local governments from taking reasonable measures to prevent minors from viewing sexually explicit materials. Society must draw the line against the porn peddlers and their assault on the innocence and safety of America’s youth.â€
Strossen, Johnson’s opponent in the debate, authored the book Defending Pornography: Free Speech, Sex, and the Fight for Women’s Rights. ADF President Alan Sears is co-author with Craig Osten of the book The ACLU vs. America (www.acluvsamerica.com).
Following the event, a general reception will be held for all who attended.

IIRC, Nadine Strossen’s record against the ADF is abismal. ADF’s Jeff Ventrella creamed her in a debate concerning The U.S. Constitution and the Ten Commandments. 09/13/05 on the link. The U.S. Constitution and the Ten Commandments – World Views Collide
