Louisiana ACLU head bigot hangs up the straw hat

The Daily Advertiser: Louisiana ACLU chief announces retirement

Joe Cook will step down as chief of the Louisiana ACLU in June.
Cook, executive director, announced his plan to retire later this year in a press release issued just after noon Thursday, Feb. 1.

“After being on the front lines and on call seven days a week,” Cook writes, “the time has come to hang up the ACLU spurs.”

The move will give Cook more time to devote to family, friends, regular exercise and a chance to “try my hand at organic gardening,” he added.

Actually, I’m sad to see old Joe go. He was the source of so much entertainment and surely helped us more than he did the ACLU.

Some Joe Cook lowlights:

People that pray are the same as 9/11 terrorists: They answer to a “higher power!”

Threatens privately-funded Katrina Memorial on private land put up by private citizens: Hey, it was NEAR public land!
