We could always bring back "fop" and "foppish" although they are awfully, well, sissy-sounding.

Shouldn't they also go after Harvey Fierstein, a Gay actor, for writing the children's book 'The Sissy Duckling'? As a (conservative, chaste, Catholic) Gay woman I have no problem with people using words like 'sissy' or 'queer'--- it's what they say that counts. I don't know what Michael Smerconish has been saying--- but nor do the liberals who go off to protest based on one word.

Quick hits

Stop the ACLU reported you cannot call anyone a sissy anymore. I’ve worn glasses since I was 6. Somehow I never had that opportunity anyway.

The term is of course derogatory and implies a lack of manliness so I guess you are not now allowed to question anyone’s manliness.

You're "allowed to question anyone's manliness", but it is the epitome of an ad hominem attack, so by doing so Smerconish did nothing more than demonstrate his inability construct a logical argument.

It has nothing to do with gender equality. "Great men talk about ideas, mediocre men talk about events and small-minded men talk about people"
