Good. For centuries, religious leaders have been blathering on and on about various things for which there's no evidence and been alowed to get away with it. It's about time people representing churches and running their mouths were held to the same standards as people from other organizations.

Update: SENATE VOTE MAY COME TOMORROW...Will future historians compare Senate bill #1, being moved by Reid, Durbin, Schumer, Leahy, Lautenberg and GANG as the beginning of the end of the American Republic?

The ACLU hasn't officially weighed-in on this provision yet, but it wouldn't surprise me or David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network if they came out against it.

Listen, this thing is a tad bit confusing. Not everyone is sure as to what the exact rules of engagement would be, but it's clear enough for Focus on the Family at least to have a major issue with it. I'm hearing they may be joined by the ACLU in this fight against this portion of the bill as well. Imagine that!

BTW, while I was searching through the ACLU newsroom, I found a couple other interesting articles.
ACLU of Louisiana Files Lawsuit to Protect Free Speech Rights of Christian Protestor
ACLU of New Jersey Applauds Ruling in Favor of Student's Right to Sing "Awesome God"

So much for the ACLU blindly trying to screw over Christians.

As seen at Stop The ACLU:

The lobbying legislation we have worried might apply to blogs before, will also apply to much more. The ACLJ is the place to go to learn all about it and get involved to stop it.Â

I have written about this before, and was planning on writing about it today. Glad you got something up, Jay.

Here is any interesting point, as I just wrote. With the new law, you would be more then likely required to file paperwork with the FEC for asking people to sign that petition, which goes to all members of Congress.

New Congress Proposes Drastic Legislation to Impac

Nancy Pelosi hasn’t been Speaker of the House for two weeks yet and there is already proposed legislation which would be the most significant encroachment ever into the affairs and ability of churches and other organizations to communicate.
