The Reserve Components Now Exist In Name Only…..
It is now official, the Reserve components are now history. Longstanding policy has been tossed aside:
WASHINGTON (AP) – The Pentagon has abandoned its limit on the time a citizen-soldier can be required to serve on active duty, officials said Thursday, a major change that reflects an Army stretched thin by longer-than-expected combat in Iraq.
No matter how much splaining and dancing goes on, Reservists will ask, “Does this mean I can legally be put on active duty for 24 months, come off duty for one day, then back on for 24 months?” And the answer legally, is now yes.
2008…………actions have consequences…….
