My annual Kwanzaa post

Yes, I know that Kwanzaa is over. I meant to get to this sooner, but it’s still worth doing. It if hadn’t been for the recent STACLU crisis, I would have posted it in a timely manner. PiratePundit.com has absolutely no function whatsoever but to be the online museum of the Quotable Karenga. What is the Quotable Karenga, you ask? It is a book (I collect books, and have to say that my copy of the Quotable Karenga is one of the most interesting of what I have) written by the founder of Kwanzaa and spells out his philosophies.
I’ve always presented it without editorial comment. To those who celebrate and find meaning and joy in observing Kwanzaa, I do not believe it is my place to challenge that. People ought to be able to find joy where they can. For those who don’t really have a solid idea of the motivation and self-made dogmatism of the man behind Kwanzaa, I think it is worth at least a few minutes reading the man’s writings and deciding for onesself if Karenga is worth setting aside a week to celebrate his philosophy.
