Clinton’s Warrantless Wiretap Program

This past year has seen much hand wringing over the Bush Administration intercepting phone conversations where one leg of the call has a terrorist origin.

This weekend we are learning of something much more sinister in regards to international relations with our allies and liberties at large. The Guardian is reporting, “US bugged Diana’s phone on night of death crash:”

The American secret service was bugging Princess Diana’s telephone conversations without the approval of the British security services on the night she died, according to the most comprehensive report on her death, to be published this week.

Among extraordinary details due to emerge in the report by former Metropolitan police commissioner Lord Stevens is the revelation that the US security service was bugging her calls in the hours before she was killed in a car crash in Paris.

Why is this important? This is very simple, Diana is is the Mother of a future King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island. The Monarch, is the head of Government and is an integral portion of the Government. In the event of a terror attack, the UK Security Services are charged with protecting the Royal Family for the purpose of ensuring continuity of government. The Monarchy has the authority to re-establish an elected government, and to act solely in the interim, in the event Parliament suffered a terror attack.

So why was the Clinton Administration, in the tradition of J. Edger Hoover, intercepting these phone calls in the United Kingdom. What other phone calls did they intercept and what files do they have? Who gave the orders, what did the President know and when did he know it?

Was the Clinton Administration building a file to use as an attempt to blackmail the future Monarch?

In the 90s, if it had been discovered that the Government of John Major was intercepting the phone conversations of Pauline Gore (Al Gores mother), I would have been equally disgusted.

Say Anything has ideas as to why.

The American People, the Congress and our Allies deserve answers.

Governments spy on each-other. News at 11!

Honestly, you’re not this naive, are you? Must be a very, very slow day where you’re generating such amazingly disingenuous titles as “Clinton’s Warrantless Wiretap Program” for something so commonplace…. and having nothing to do with warrants, and likely nothing to do with the Clintons.

I guess Dianna had terrorist connections. :-)
