War on Christmas Hits Sea-Tac

Update: The Trees Go Back Up!
Update: It was under the threat of a lawsuit….
The Port of Seattle says it had little choice. It says the Seattle rabbi with the Central Organization for Jewish Learning hired a lawyer and threatened to sue if the airport did not erect an eight-foot menorah to balance the message of the Christmas trees. An airport spokeswoman says the two sides could not reach an agreement before the lawsuit was to be filed. So the trees were removed instead.
Cross-posted from Right on the Right:
What are the next victims in the War on Christmas? How about ‘Holiday Trees’ in the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Apparently some easily offended liberals or perhaps (thought) ACLU attorneys complained that the trees weren’t inclusive enough of other religious persuasions. PC bullcrap.
HOLIDAY TREES REMOVED FROM SEA-TAC
All Holiday trees at Sea-Tac Airport were removed this morning after several community member complaints. They say the trees don’t represent all cultures and religions…The trees will not go up again…the airport policy on decorations will be reviewed after the holidays.
First off, they were already calling them “Holiday trees.” How much more politically correct could they get? The trees have nothing to do with the Christian religion, it’s just a celebration of retail Christmas. Removing the trees altogether just shows how far our society has fallen. The War on Religion continues…
The Anchoress is tired of all the hurt feelings.

SEA-TAC Airport – All of the Christmas trees inside the terminal at Sea-Tac have been removed in response to a complaint by a rabbi.
A local rabbi wanted to install an 8-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasn’t put up, and gave a two-day deadline to remove the trees.
Sea-Tac public affairs manager Terri-Ann Betancourt said the trees that adorn the Sea-Tac upper and lower levels may not properly represent all cultures.
She said that since this is their busiest time of year and they don’t have time to add a fair representation of all cultures, her department decided to take down all of the decorations, review their policies, and decide if they need to make a change for next year.
This was on KING 5 News but I’m getting a 404 error and page pulled now.
So Seattle residents need to get together a protest group and let the airport know they are offended with the Airport’s hostility to Christmas.
Follow-up: It seems that some Christians are voicing their displeasure in a less than civilized manner.

I’d have never pegged you as a bigot Jeff.
There is no mention of Christians in the linked article.
But here is a bit of good news;
Full-Size Christmas Trees to Return to Seattle Airport
You’re right that I was making an assumption, and I shouldn’t have. Should we call the good rabbi to find out the nature of the threats?

If it will make you feel better, by all means. Let us know what the good Rabbi says.
