Hamas In Secret Talks With Democrat Party?

Update: For what its worth, the Democrats of course deny any such meeting took place.
Update: The Jerusalem Post has pulled the paragraphs referring to the alleged meeting between Hamas and Democrats. WorldNetDaily has not altered their story. Thanks to Dread Pundit Bluto. The original source of Maan News has not retracted either.
I’m not sure how many are paying attention to this, but I sure hope it isn’t true.
Hamas officials have managed to smuggle more than $66 million in cash through the Rafah border crossing in the past eight months, a member of the Hamas-led government revealed Wednesday.
Meanwhile, sources close to the Hamas-led government claimed that Hamas representatives recently held talks with officials from the US Democratic Party at a secret location.
The sources told the Bethlehem-based Maan News Agency that Hamas representatives have also been holding secret talks with European government officials, including Britain and France.
Hmmm…if true, I wonder what they could be talking about?

The source told Maannews the Democrats expressed an understanding with the Hamas principal of not recognizing Israel and applauded Hamas’ willingness to accept a long-term cease-fire with the Jewish state in exchange for an Israeli withdrawal to what is known as the pre-1967 borders – meaning an evacuation of the Gaza Strip, West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem.
If it’s true that Hamas secretly met with US Democrats – the Democrats should be charged with treason and sedition. This is unbelievable – why does our government just let this go on and on? The people need to stand up to this and say this is enough – the Dhimmicrats are selling us down the proverbial river.
Indeed, IF it is true. I don’t know how we could determine if it is or not. It is an alarming claim, one I’m sure Democrats will deny.
Stacie Paxton, a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, told WND the party was not aware of any meeting.
Well, maybe not “deny”, just “not aware”. Hot Air is skeptical.

This isn’t necessarily a problem. Like it or not, the Palestinians elected these guys, so we have to communicate with them. They’re terrorists, so we can’t do it through official channels, but this sort of back-channel discussion happens all the time.

I would have guessed you would have gone with “The government needs to disclose this information and stoop hiding secrets.” or does that only apply to classified infomation?
I never asked for 100% transparency and it doesn’t sound like anything bad is happening. Some Dems have met with Hamas? Good. I hope some Republicans have too. Anything that helps cool tensions in that part of the world is a good thing and I’m not so naive as to think that open negotiations would be very effective.
Every party of that mess has powerful hard-liners. In that sort of situation, the only practical method is to keep everything hush-hush until there’s a deal that everyone can sell to their moderates.
How far does are security and or Israels have to be compromised. Is it alright for the politicians,. namely the democrats to play world leaders with terrorist thugs while our elected admin. is getting bombarded with bs hand delivered by the MSM?
And isn’t the golden cow aka the UN natrualy supposed to take matters like these into their realm of support or mediation?

You seem to be assuming that these meeting happened without the administration’s approval. On what are you basing that?

For it to be treason you need to prove that the Democrats are working against the interests of the United States in a way that is not just a political difference of opinion.
