Mel Martinez To Be RNC Chairman

Posted on November 13, 2006

I spent most of the day on the road listening to talk radio. Looks like I didn’t miss much exciting. I heard the news on the radio that Mel Martinez would replace Ken Mehlman as the RNC chairman. I’m embarrassed to say that my first reaction was…”who?” So I took a look around the blogosphere and it looks like its not something to get excited about. As a matter of fact, it looks like its something else to sigh about.

Michelle Malkin:

More thumbs down from the conservative base, not that anyone cares about them anymore.

Looks like the Republicans have learned nothing from the elections. Just because the Democrats won doesn’t mean we have to replace everyone with RINOs!!

Daily Pundit

We’ve got to drag the RINOs from the building. There’s no other way. If the GOP recovery gets derailed during the next two years it will be the handiwork of the Republicans themselves, not the Democrats — just like the 2006 downfall was.

I was really hoping for Michael Steele, instead we get another Harriet Myers it seems. I hate to see things again if Bush has to replace a Supreme Court Justice. I’m really looking for a reason to continue the fight for the Republicans. Are they gonna fight or are they gonna insist on losing even more of the base in the next two years?

Seems I’m not the only that hoped for Michael Steele. Ian put up a poll…go vote.
Unhappy? Let the GOP know. info@gop.com

We were dismayed to hear this news too. Martinez was less than impressive here in Florida. When he went to Washington, he did very little to distinguish himself there either. Could they have picked a more lackluster Hispanic lackey?

    What a head shaking disappointment…
