Three Major Generic Polls Show Momentum Shift Towards Republicans
First there was the Washington Post/ABC News poll showing only a 6% lead for the dems! It was 14% in the last poll.
Next, the Pew Poll shows momentum towards Republicans.
Republicans were posting higher marks among likely voters on the question of which party should control the House, a shift one poll attributed to the GOP making gains among independent voters and party faithful becoming more engaged. The independent Pew Research Center found that Democrats now have a four-point edge over Republicans, narrower than the 11-point advantage two weeks ago.
And now AJ Strata sends word that the USA Today/ Gallup poll shows big momentum for Republicans as well.
Democratic advantage of 23 percentage points a month ago and 13 points two weeks ago is now down to 7.

What’s shifted is the determination of Republicans to vote. The Democratic advantage among registered voters was 11 points, but Republican voters were more likely to be judged as sure to go to the polls, making the edge among likely voters smaller.A month ago, the Democratic margin among registered and likely voters was identical.
It is now officially a trend. The advantage the Democrats felt so sure about is surely shrinking. Get motivated and Get Out The Vote!
Hot Air agrees that it is officially a trend but doesn’t think it is enough.
Ace is more optimistic.

It’s not what Ken Mehlman would have liked to see in in the final Gallup poll, but it is a big shift in a two week period, and it suggests the GOP has the momentum. We will see whether that’s enough to keep control of the House and Senate.

If these are country wide votes then they may at best just the general preference of Americans is shifting.
The Democrats are fighting back as I just saw an ad on TV about how Iraq caused terrorism as if terrorism did not exist before we entered Iraq.
I always wonder why they think there are enough Americans who will believe that bit of illogic.
