ox confuses the issue by stating that the embryo’s that are being researched are “thrown away” from IVF. Embryonic stem cells used for research in this manner however are prone to genetic anomolies, which complicates the research process for cures.

Michael J. Fox appeared on ABC’s show hosted by George Stephanopoulos and admitted he had NOT read the Missouri Stem Cell Amendment. Perhaps it may have been a good idea to do so before campaigning for an amendment that included cloning.

As gfactor said – his ad was not for the initiative. Also, I know he has campaigned for Arlen Specter in the past (2004). I think this is a non-partisan issue for him. I think he is trying to save his life and help millions of other Americans. If you watch the whole video, I think you will see that. He is looking to get the votes in so that the numbers will be there so that the President cannot veto the bill again (the one veto Bush has ever used.)

When it comes to stem cell research, maybe people will give Fox’s opinion more weight due to his illness. I have sympathy for the guy, but his situation doesn’t change whether the the relative value of adult versus embryonic stem cell research.
