You realize you have now painted her as an unrepentant oath breaker who knew she was committing treason and is proud of it. Her reasons for doing it are really irrelevant. From what you say she fell for the sob story of a terrorist. I have my doubts that a qualified lawyer is that much of a fool.

Stewart is appealing the case, and will remain out of prison on bail, pending the hearing. As if the 28 months wasn't short enough?! Prosecutors were extremely disappointed in the judge's reduction in the sentence, and are considering an appeal of their own. They should. And I'm still trying to figure out what sentencing guidelines the judge followed to reach his result for it would appear that he didn't follow them at all.
