First of all, the sanctions (as passed) are watered down quite a bit. Secondly who honestly thinks sanctions from the U.N., which have no teeth, will force North Korea to do anything? Thirdly, North Korea has already stated they will ignore any and all U.N. sanctions and orders. It appears to me that the United States will continue the diplomatic route until every and all courses of action via diplomacy can be approached. When that point will be is unknown and what will happen after that point is also unknown. I feel that there is more pressure being put on China (about the only country the North Korean government truly fears) to confront North Korea diplomatically in order to get the North Korean government to cooperate.

Personally, I feel there is more to fear from Iran than North Korea at this point.

U.N. Sanctions: Delaying N.K Strategy
These sanctions would have been heavily laden in incentive, had we not invaded Iraq. The immediate neighbors find it more offensive to have the United States camped at their borders, than nuke test-deregulation.
