Crap Push Polls Released Today

Posted on October 10, 2006

At times I wonder if the media has any shame. Three polls came out today here, here and here all proclaiming the Republican Party is doomed.

These polls are nothing but a push poll that is dressed up as a valid statistical sample.
The CBS/New York Times Poll has a total of 73 Questions. The vast majority are related to the Foley incident. What kind of results do you expect for the election results when you get around to those questions?

A valid poll would ask “Foley” questions to one group and election questions to a second group that has not been tainted by the Foley questions.

I have no doubt that if you performed another poll and substituted “Foley related” questions with “North Korea bomb related” questions, you would get completely different results.

A reader writes on the sample in todays poll:

The “USA”/Gallup poll is beyond ridiculous.

Sept 17, it is Rep 48%, Dem 48%.

Oct 8 it is Reps 36%, Dem 59%.

Common sense should tell ANY ONE that bar some cataclysmic event (and Foley ain’t that) things do not chance that much that fast. At least one of the two polls is way off.

If the people who do these polls were doctors, we would all be dead.
