Lieberman Concedes To Far Left Anti-War Lamont
Posted on August 8, 2006
Lefty blog Raw Story called it early. After much activity from the nutroots side of the blogosphere including a an alleged hacking of Joe Lieberman’s website the results are now official.
I am publishing this at the very moment that we learn of Lamont’s victory. Joe Lieberman has just conceded and is calling Lamont out. He is talking about how dirty the politics of the far left has gone and is vowing to fight on in his campaign. He vows to fight on!
It was a much more narrow victory than many in the nutroots community were expecting. The last decent democrat in the government has now been taken down by the far left, anti-war fringe. This may just be good news for Republicans. The far left tried their best to paint Lieberman as a Bush clone. They attacked his support for the war in Iraq and the general war on terror. Many leftwing blogs resorted to very dirty tactics including much anti-semitism. They definitely showed their true colors.
So, now we know who we are up against! It is the fringe left. I think that is good news for Republicans. Sadly it is bad news for one of the only decent democrats left. He will probably run as an independent now. He isn’t likely to win this way, but he is a stand up guy and one of the only democrats that has my respect. Now…its time to take down Lamont! Lieberman is going to continue his fight as an independent and mentions how he will work with other people to acheive a better life and better National Security. He talks about ending the partisianship. Good for him!
As for Republicans, Joe running such a close race and dividing the democrats on this is good news. The votes on the side of democrats will likely fall across these same lines giving an advantage to the Republican challenger if they take advantage of this.

One Response to “Lieberman Concedes To Far Left Anti-War Lamont”

The Republicans are cheering at this split in the Democrat party. The Independents and conservative Democrats may back a Republican who plays the economic liberal card while remaining a cultural conservative. The problem is that Republican Alan Schlesinger will most likely not be the one they need. Neverless a three way race is his best chance of becoming Senator.
