Infanticide — to the ACLU it’s “women’s health”

Posted on July 21, 2006

Simply put, partial-birth abortion is a human sacrifice performed at the altar of the ACLU’s agenda. Every abortion is a tragedy, but partial-birth abortion is uniquely barbaric and unworthy of existence in a civilized society. Any honest person will admit this is true. I know of no other “right” which has supporters of this “right” refusing to even address the bare facts or photos of what they insist is sacred.

This press release is a striking acknowledgement by the ACLU themselves that what they call a “right” is a brand of slaughter too evil to name. At issue is the US Supreme Court’s pending hearing of two cases that challenge the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. The opening quote from the June 16 ACLU press release:

“The Federal Abortion Ban prohibits abortions as early as 13 weeks that doctors say are safe and protect women’s health,” said Vicki Saporta, NAF President and CEO. “We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will continue to find that the ban lacks the necessary protections for women’s health and cannot stand.”

Notice something? Yes, that’s right the ACLU and its baby-killer friends at NAF have invented a new name for the act (with the official-looking flourish of capitalization, of course) because the truth is too obscene to utter. Recognizing that this is another ACLU position that is wildly unpopular with the American people, the ACLU and friends have decided on their oft-employed, tried-and-untrue tactic – Just Lie Baby! This bill is not an outright ban on abortion, but a prohibition on a very specific method of butchery that is NEVER medically necessary for the “health” of the woman. A group of more than 600 doctors, former Surgeon General C Everett Koop and even the inventor of this grisly procedure himself affirms as much (as stated in the text of the law):

“The physician credited with developing the partial-birth abortion procedure has testified that he has never encountered a situation where a partial-birth abortion was medically necessary to achieve the desired outcome and, thus, is never medically necessary to preserve the health of a woman.”

Nonetheless, the ACLU isn’t done demonstrating its contempt for the American people. Here they are again treating Americans as if we’re too stupid to recognize Big Lie after Big Lie, no matter how Big the Lie.

“At every step of the way supporters of the ban have put politics above women’s health care needs,” said Talcott Camp, Deputy Director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. “We hope that the Supreme Court will set the record straight once and for all: abortion restrictions must not endanger women’s health.”

“Women’s health care needs.” That’s what we call infanticide these days. Despite the fact that this procedure is never medically necessary to protect the “health” of the abortion-seeker, and virtually none of these murders are committed in a medical “emergency” (read: they are purely elective), the act includes a reasonable exception that should satisfy everyone but Ibl?s:

“This subsection does not apply to a partial-birth abortion that is necessary to save the life of a mother whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself.”

The following from the text of this law passed by an overwhelming, bi-partisan majority in both houses spells its ultimate purpose in a way the ACLU avoids at all costs:

“In addition to promoting maternal health, such a prohibition will draw a bright line that clearly distinguishes abortion and infanticide”

“Partial-birth abortions involve the killing of a child that is in the process, in fact mere inches away from, becoming a ‘‘person’’.”

This press release is another clear demonstration that the ACLU is required to run away from its own positions, or flat-out lie, in order to sustain any of its dwindling credibility. Employing malfeasant euphemism to justify infanticide shows that these extremists know they cannot win the debate should what they really support be honestly revealed.

It is nice to see some people who stand for what is obviously right.
