Draven 32, as far as I know the police have not released much details on the weapon(s) used. I am sorting through news feeds right now to see if there is any other info. Most feeds read as one or two file copies. I hope someone on the ground in Phoenix can give us local news regarding this developing story.

TTHOMAS 48, thank you for your comments. That was a very good and informative comment post.

I sure hope that the Phoenix Police catch these snipers before they move on or change their MO.

You're absolutely right that an international organization could cause extreme panic with few people on the ground. What made it difficult to get the DC snipers were the false vehicle descriptions.

Hope Phoenix calls in some reinforcements to help with the investigation. As it said in one of the news articles, they are racing against the clock.

	Respectfully,
	Bosun

	Be prepared to return fire.

Is this 'sniper' even using a rifle???.

Domestic Terrorism is such a difficult phrase. I would definitely say it's domestic terrorism, since it is domestic and scaring the pants off of people. As to whether it's related to global terrorism?

I dunno. It would be interesting to me as it might have some bearing on how I feel about building a wall along the Mexican border.

But, realistically this sounds like Domestic crazies. I just don't hear that many stories out of other countries like this. I thought that was one of Michael Moore's best points in Bowling for Columbine. The fact that these crazy gun related killings seem to be very localized to the United States. Canada also has tons of guns and they don't seem to have these problems (at least per capita, per gun, etc, etc.). So that's what I'm basing my hunch on right now.

It would definitely be a very smart move on the part of an International terror group, as it would be very easy to cause extreme panic with very few people on the ground.

In any case, hopefully they'll catch this person or persons soon (and their serial killer/rapist for that matter). Not a good time to be in Phoenix.

TTHOMAS 48,

Thanks for the information. I did not goggle phoenix sniper news, unfortunately I did standard web search. I now have signed up for Google news alerts on that subject. It did not show under domestic terrorism or terror in America. Guess it is still too small to be labeled anything.

The story seems regionalized. Perhaps because of the news in the Middle East.

The Phoenix snipers have been active for quite some time and apparently started on shooting livestock and worked their way up to human targets.

The Washington DC snipers started small and about the time they reached Montgomery County, Maryland, they became big news really fast.

I am hoping for some of our Phoenix area readers to comment on their experiences and how the public is looking at it.

TTHOMAS 48, do you think it is crime or domestic terrorism? How do we define in differentiate between the two?

Nationally the story does not have much interest.

When I was in Japan the religious cult, AUM Shinrikyo (??????, literally, "AUM the True Teaching") committed five coordinated attacks using sarin gas in the Tokyo subway. After the attacks, the Japanese police started looking at other unusual "crimes" and discovered that AUM Shinrikyo was active experimenting with various ways to kill, including, testing ways to release Sarin and perfecting their delivery methods. They also experimented on other poisons.

Apparently the police in Phoenix do not know who or what they are dealing with at present. Any readers in the Phoenix area, please let us know what is going on from your prospective.
