An EarthFirster attacking an apartment building isn't what I was looking for. As far as I know that has happened exactly once. Death threats against someone advocating some position perceived as leftist are commonplace. ACLU offices consider it a slow day if they only get five.

I was looking for a legislator getting a death threat because she voted against gay marriage or a cop hasseling somebody for having a Jesus fish on their car. I want to know how many death threats the Thomas More Law Center gets every day.

"a man or woman who works for the government passed Top Secret information to the NYT"
What was the exact "Top Secret information" passed to the NYT? It wasn't the fact that the government was monitoring the SWIFT database, because that has not been a secret since 1998.

So what was that "Top Secret information"?

meatbrain: a man or woman who works for the government passed Top Secret information to the NYT. The NYT does not deny this. In fact, they brag about it.

I can't make this any easier for you without using babytalk. You truly are "special".

Red Sonja: every point you made in your previous post has been refuted. I'm not sure why you posted again, since this current foray only serves to emphasize this fact, and highlight your lack of common sense.

"Red Sonja, I have personally received four death threats via email. My colleagues at The Jawa Report have received more."

the JAWA report is critical of right wing Muslim extremists. Most Muslim countries consider death threats to be a national pastime.

I want to know if you were threatened because you were opposed to abortion or gay marriage or because someone found out you were a Christian.

"You also might want to open your eyes to documented cases of vandalism against housing developments, car dealerships, and ROTC offices…all perpetrated by the lunatic Left. I’d also note several instances of celebrities openly wishing death to President Bush, including David Letterman, who advertised for a sniper."

I'm sure Bush is shaking in his shoes because Letterman made a joke about him.

"This means that the incident was a hoax."
False. It means the powder tested as harmless. You have already admitted there was no evidence for your claim that the NYT sent the envelope itself.

You lied about the confession, Bluto. There was none. Nor was there a "Top Secret" program. The fact that the government was monitoring data through the SWIFT database was made public as early as 1998.

meatbrain: not at all. Reuters has updated their story with the information that the powder has tested as harmless. This means that the incident was a hoax. It only remains to discover who perpetrated this hoax. As an entity that benefits from the hoax, the staff of the NYT must necessarily be suspect.

This is pretty basic stuff. Are the words maybe too long for you to follow? I could write lower on the Gunning-Fog Index if you're having trouble.

Espionage refers to the use of agents to obtain information about a government's (or company's) activities.

The NYT explained in their story that they obtained the information about the Top Secret government program to track terrorist finances from a confidential government source. In other words, they enticed a government employee to violate his or her secrecy oath, then printed the information for their own profit (you did know that The Gray Whore is a for-profit organization, didn't you? I can usually take basic knowledge for granted with commenters, but you seem to be a real "special" case).

They made no secret of this (how could they) and acknowledged all of it in an editorial following the story.

You admit that there is no evidence that the envelope is a hoax. Thank you. Your speculation can therefore be dismissed as worthless.

"As for your second question, buy a dictionary and look up the definition of 'espionage'."
Evasion noted. When and where did any executive of the NYT “[admit] to using espionage in order to print Top Secret materials during a time of war”?

You made the claim, Bluto. You obviously cannot back it up. I am therefore happy to point out that you were lying -- there was no confession.

meatbrain: the question is your own, which is why I don't care what you believe about the answer. If you had actually read my post for comprehension, instead of flying into a snit, you would realize that, I did not assert that a hoax had been perpetrated, but that it is a possibility.

If you are really that backward and need a particularly fine point put upon it: there is exactly as much evidence to believe that it was a hoax as there is to believe that a conservative sent the envelope, as Reuters speculated in their story.

As for your second question, buy a dictionary and look up the definition of "espionage".

With all that said, I'm happy to keep pointing out to the other readers what a nitwit you are, so fire away again.

"I did answer the question"
False. Can you explain why, with zero evidence, we should believe that the New York Times sent the envelope of white powder to itself?

"The Gray Slut has never denied printing details..."
Now you are tapdancing away from your original claim, which was: "They proudly admitted to using espionage in order to print Top Secret materials during a time of war. In other words, they confessed."
I am challenging you to cite that confession. When and where did any executive of the NYT "[admit] to using espionage in order to print Top Secret materials during a time of war"?

Cite the actual confession, or admit that there was no such confession.

meatbrain: I did answer the question, to wit, I don't care what you believe.

meatbrain: The Gray Slut has never denied printing details of the Top Secret program to track terrorist financing, or that they obtained their information from a confidential source.

Start paying attention and buy a dictionary before you embarrass yourself further.
