Stop The ACLU Smeared

Update 2: Look, here is how it goes….I personally would not expose the personal details of anyone’s private info. I don’t defend this. It is a personal decision of an individual to do so. If you are looking for a condemnation from me, I will only say that I, as an individual, would not resort to this. I am only defending Nedd to the point that it was all taken out of context. Nedd had no evil intentions, nor racial motivations, and no harm was a result of his actions. I disapprove of the methods, and will be trying to convince Nedd to change his mind about this.

Update: I never claimed to be “unaffiliated” or “unrelated” to Stoptheaclu.org. I only stated that we are two seperate things. We may be under the same umbrella, but we are not the same people. Unlike the left we are not taking marching orders from anyone. We have a common cause and in many cases we join forces. The particular accusation against Nedd however has nothing to do with this site. Personally, I would not use the methods he did to reach our goal, but the left are totally overexaggerating what he did as I state below.

The lefties are going crazy over what Nedd from Stop The ACLU.Org did in his campaign to expose ACLU plaintiffs. Well, first off…I don’t know why KOS linked to me. I’m Stoptheaclu.com. I didn’t publish anyone’s address, so you can all move along. Stop the ACLU.com and Stoptheaclu.org are two seperate things. We support each others main cause of exposing the dangerous agenda of the ACLU, but obviously use different methods. I can’t control what Nedd does, and he doesn’t control what I do.

This is nothing but a campaign by anti-American extremists to cast a shadow on a increasingly successful grassroots effort to expose the most radical and dangerous organization in America — the ACLU.

The cry of racism/anti-Semitism is the last refuge of a Leftist scoundrel on the verge of losing an argument. The Kosanostra and Crew are very familiar with losing (especially political campaigns), so it’s not surprising that they and their minions resort to the tired, tried-and-untrue refrain when they get that all-too-familiar losing feeling in the heat of the battle of ideas. Nedd is half Jewish himself, so the point is moot with their cries of racism.

For the record: First, we reject any and all race/religion/ethnicity-based personal attacks on anyone, with special protection due children. Second, we reject physical violence on individuals and incitement of the same. Third, we reject any unwarranted attempt by our ideological opposition to cast an argument in terms of the very things we emphatically reject.

While there are a variety of opinions on the practice of publishing home addresses in the Stop the ACLU Coalition/Community, with many in opposition, the perpetually-outraged Leftosphere would do well to not “throw stones in glass houses.” Those who’ve attacked the practice of publishing identities of ACLU clients who initiate lawsuits designed to attack the long-held traditions of our nation face serious hypocrisy issues. Both Jesus’ General and Daily Kos have either defended the practice of revealing the addresses/neighborhoods of political opponents (here; and here) or have done so themselves (here — yes we know JG, you “repented” hours before attacking Nedd for the exact same thing you’d done. Not a convincing CYA.).

Finally, the anti-STACLU interlopers have some serious factual problems that completely compromise the purpose behind this attempted E-lynching. Assuming the original reports (http://www.jewsonfirst.org/06b/indianriver.html) are accurate, the mother and son apparently moved as early as late 2004. How could the 2006 publication of the address the father maintains have “driven” the family from their home in 2004 or played any role at all?

In June, Daily Kos featured a blatantly anti-Jew pair of cartoons (here) that were met with nearly 800 back-slapping, towel-snapping comments from the “tolerant” faithful. The subject was Yale’s decision to pull a job offer from an America-hating, anti-Semite “blogger-scholar” named Juan Cole (here). Of course, it was the Jews! The “gefilte fish” reference cannot be interpreted any other way than the ethnic slur it was intended to be. The reference to the “corporate” power of the Jews…make your own judgment on what this imagery invokes. Oh OK, I’ll give you a head start. (go here.)

Consider also the obsessively vehement opposition to Sen. Joe Lieberman. Trend? With far more substantiation on our side, dare we make the charge they are so willing to make?

    Any organization that defends Ollie North and Rush Limbaugh should be done away with. Ollie North is a felon and should have been put in prison along with Reagan.. would have been nice if Reagan had died in prison where he belonged..

    As to linking the wrong site, that’s unfortunate and should be pointed out very clearly. I’d read the story in question and was somewhat surprised to hear the accusation associated with this site. I really don’t agree with a lot of what is written here, but I would have been surprised to see this level of irresponsibility from StopTheACLU.com. At the same time, I operate jimmysworld.org and there is no shortage of people mixing up my site with jimmysworld.com (which apparently no longer exists). I think it was an honest mistake.

    With that said… this was a horribly, horribly irresponsible act. To pretend that this is an accusation of antisemitism is to conflate the argument inappropriately. Antisemitism is thrown around as an accusation by both political wings as a matter of course, and is usually inappropriate on both sides. To take someone who was (allegedly) being hostilely discriminated against based on their religion by the religious majority and to post their personal information is to put them in genuine physical danger. You shouldn’t defend that on any level. Remind everyone that this site wasn’t responsible, for sure, but don’t defend their behaviour. What was done on Stop the ACLU Coalition’s site is entirely unacceptable, with no question. The site could have “exposed” the plaintiff by discussing the political details of the plaintiff and highlighting the potential inappropriate behaviour of said plaintiff without placing them in physical danger.

    Point out bad behaviour as bad behaviour. Don’t gloss the issue over.

    Jimmy, I’m not condoning anything, and I did point out that it was not my site, nor my methods. I didn’t defend it either. I only pointed out that the accusations were unfounded, and hypocritical since they have participatated in the same methods. I also pointed out the “fact” that Nedd’s actions were not responsible for the family moving. I did not condone his actions. If what you are asking me to do is condemn his actions…I will unshamefully say…I personally would never use this method. There.

    I have all sorts of issues with the site, and with Jay, but the man specifically said he didn’t support the tactic involved.

    The connection between the sites is ideological, not instrumental. There are plenty of things to attack (like maybe the implicit acceptance of the original post), but give credit where credit is due. If he’s willing to say that the TACTIC was improper we should respect that.

    I would apologize to you, Jay, if I’ve overstepped in rendering an opinion here since I’ve obviously got no affiliation with the site. Still I prefer we keep things honest.

    Jesus give me some cheese!! I’ve got enough Liberal whine here to last me for weeks with this issue. Jay, your the best, but I am going to disagree with you on this one buddy and agree with Nedd. Do we think for one minute that the Liberal jerks would stop and think this was a bad idea to post personal information? Not when they are too busy promoting Palestine, terrorist human rights, revealing national secrets, and violating our real civil rights. This family was and is fair game and I urge Nedd to keep going with this idea. Once they filed the suit, those families opened themselves up for attack and rightfully so. I’d love to know who the other chicken [edited] family was that didn’t have enough balls to put their name on the papers. More gutless narrow minded liberals. All of this information is PUBLIC record, anyone who had the time could go and retrieve it and post it if they wanted, its not that big of a deal. Actually it is, but only to the Liberals who cannot stand the fact that we may have touched on a weapon to use against their ignorant destructive ways. You have to remember, just as with Ann Coulters latest book, if it causes an uproar with the lefties and moonbats, you’ve touched on something great there! This event is all over our local news here in Delaware. I personally was so thrilled when the school board refused to cave into these communist jerks. This is not about some jewish family being oppressed religiously. Thats just all typical liberal word play. No one is forcing them to say or do anything. They have every right to ignore what is happening and not participate if they do not believe or are even just in a bad mood. That right IS in the constitution. There is no right in the constitution that gives them the power or authority to deny everyone else their right, again, which IS in the constitution, to practice their religion where ever and when ever they see fit. Nothing is MANDATORY about other people of other faiths praying and having that make everyone else ‘obligated’ to do the same, and no laws are being created establishing anything. These narrow minded selfish families just cannot stand the fact that the christian members of that board wish to practice their religion, which IS their constitutional right, where ever they please. These suit filer people are the real religious zealots and racists as it is them who don’t like christians, so they must be stopped at all cost! So they start with the old imaginary separation bullcrap and move forward from there. Of course all we hear from the liberals are the same old worn out crap about how wonderful the ACLU is and how dare we want to harm such a great organization who’s only purpose is to protect our rights. [edited], how can people be so damn dumb as to believe that crap?
