ACLU Fights To Keep Communist Propaganda In School Library

The American Civil Liberties Union asked a federal judge to stop the Miami-Dade County school district from removing a series of children’s books from its libraries, including a volume about Cuba which depicts smiling kids in communist uniforms.
The ACLU and the Miami-Dade County Student Government Association argued in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Miami on Wednesday that the school board should add materials with alternate viewpoints rather than remove books that could be offensive.
Last week, the board voted 6-3 to remove “Vamos a Cuba” and its English-language version, “A Visit to Cuba” from 33 schools, stating the books were inappropriate for young readers because of inaccuracies and omissions about life in the communist nation.
The book, by Alta Schreier, targets students ages 5 to 7 and contains images of smiling children wearing uniforms of Cuba’s communist youth group and a carnival celebrating the 1959 Cuban revolution. The district owns 49 copies of the book in Spanish and English.
To the ACLU it doesn’t seem to matter that the books are misleading, inaccurate, and inappropriate for this age group. It doesn’t matter to the ACLU that the book is pure propaganda. To the ACLU it is a book ban. It just so happens that the message portrayed in the book seems to go along with their founder’s beliefs.

Here is another one from Mr. Baldwin.
“Do steer away from making it look like a Socialist enterprise…We want also to look like patriots in everything we do. We want to get a good lot of flags, talk a good deal about the Constitution and what our forefathers wanted to make of this country, and to show that we are really the folks that really stand for the spirit of our institutions.”-Baldwin’s advice in 1917 to Louis Lochner of the socialist People’s Council in Minnesota.
I’m sure the ACLU’s founder would be proud of the ACLU’s move to protect the propaganda of his ideology. The ACLU’s main point of argument is that banning one point of view is the wrong way to deal with the situation is lost when it is five year olds potentially being exposed to this crap. To the ACLU this is nothing more than a book ban, and they are asking the school to include more alternative views instead of banning unpopular ones. No one has to ask if they would fight this hard to keep a Bible in the school library, or whether their strength would be focused on getting rid of it. Take this however you want, but the ACLU has never strayed very far from its founding principles.

The ACLU and the courts need to stop micromanaging.
Propaganda is not needed to broaden a child’s mind as eating candy in not needed to fill a child’s stomach. I see a whole lot more good in eating candy.

When the Islamofascists start hacking your English heads off, those American guns and so-called faded constitution will start looking better and better.
Cuba’s Murder rate is 7.8 to our 5.5. In Switzerland where gun ownership is a way of life the murder rate is 2.7.

Contrast this with their position on the presence of the book “Of Pandas and People” in a Dover, PA school library. Didn’t they sue to have that book REMOVED in the process of soaking the taxpayers for a cool mil?

And also no mention that Baldwin was instrumental in rebuilding Europe and Japan after WWII? And also no mention that Baldwin received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1981? Yes, he steered away from making it look like a socialist empire. By the way, he may have become disenchanted with communism, but he always preached socialism.
Where’s the evidence that he always preached socialism? I hardly believe a guy like General MacArthur would hand select a socialist to help him rebuild Japan. Not being a jerk here – just looking for some proof of that assertion, so don’t take this the wrong way.

…and extreme secularism is an out in the open, shove-it-down-your-gullet, heretic-lynching, book-burning religious movement.

Because of a perverse manipulation by the ACLU and the like that the authors of that particular section of the US Code never intended.

Here’s where your ignorance shines. ID was not taught in the classrooms. A true statement about the huge, gaping flaws in Darwinian evolution (that most Darwinists themselves acknowledge the existence of) was read and kids were informed that a book IN THE SCHOOL LIBRARY that offered an opposing scientific viewpoint was available if kids CHOSE to pursue the resource.
That the judge was a Bush appointee means…what? He overreached his expertise and relied on some pretty weak interpretation and tortured application of bad existing precedent (Lemon especially). He got in Rolling Stone though! (As he gleefully pranced in to announce to his wife).
The real anti-intellectuals are people like you who will fight to the death for people to never be exposed to the TRUTH that Darwiniam evolution/secular creationism is a house built on thin-grain sand. Most of Darwin’s grand predictions and the accompanying hoaxers (Haeckl, Piltdown man, etc.) that attempted to hoodwink a confused populace have failed and failed again. I say, let’s have the debate…only your side is unwilling because you don’t have the guts to defend your weak ideas.

Another thing you’re misrepresenting about evolutionary theory is that it begins and ends with Darwin. He laid the groundwork, but the theory has been expanded a million times over since then.
To paraphrase the judge from “The Simpsons”: Religion must stay at least 500 feet from science at all times. It’s a funny thing the truth you can find in cartoons sometimes.
I have to ask you one more question, but I’m not asking to be rude. I’m asking so that I might save myself some time in the future: Are you a parody like that Gribbit guy? If you are, major propers.
To change from horse to a donkey or vise versa requires at least one and possibly two monstrous changes because of the chromosome difference. This is very unlikely to occur in nature and yet there is evidence that it happens on a regular basis. It sounds like miracles are normal in nature.

What about the “huge-ass leap” from not being able to explain something, attributing it to NOTHING and forever using that as a given, presupposing a naturalistic explanation for everything despite the fact that most of the time you are required to engage in the most implausible formulaic gymnastics in order for any new findings (especially those in microbiology and lack of vindication in the fossil record — where are all your transitory species???) to fit it into the established position from which the Atheocracy refuses to budge.

Darwinian evolution IS the fanatical faith we are talking about here. Just because others have sewn parts on to the Frankenstein monster that is this basis for eugenics, ethnic cleansing, Nazism, Communism, etc. doesn’t mean that a nobody like you can diminish Darwinism as THE intellectual baseline for “rational” people like you. Dawkins himself said Darwinism made it “possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist.” Telling admission that atheists don’t have much else.
I guess you have conceded all points in the original argument. Maybe there is some hope for you!

My stand is the ACLU is an anarchistic organization and not that it is a communist organization. The two differ though they are known to be allied in the past. That alliance broke down once the communist came to power. The ACLU ridden themselves of communist could well have been either a vendetta or a political ploy. What is the ACLU’s view of communism today? Are there communist board members today?
Roger Baldwin was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World which was and still is an anarchist union which plots the overthrow of the government of the United States. The ACLU has been a large help to them in accomplishing that goal.
General Douglas MacArthur aided Roger Baldwin in setting up civil liberty unions in many of the conquered countries after World War II.
Roger Baldwin was a member of the Unitarian Universalist church which is now an NGO of the United Nations and appears to be the UN’s blueprint for all associated churches since the Episcopalian Church(USA) which is another NGO is compromising what is written in the bible with what the UU through the UN preaches. Baldwin maintained an office in the secretariat building of the United Nations.

Your moniker is a bad fit. No leap at all. Hitler employed exactly what Darwinian evolution called for, only he thought he would hasten what he saw as inevitable in a Darwinian prism of racial “purity.” Besides, the full title of Darwin’s seminal work (or, as you call it, the Bible you’ve never read) is: “On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” The implications of such a title and the myths within your Holy Writ would not be lost even your first cousin Bonzo.
The ranks of Darwin’s followers and contemporaries were stocked with eugenists and many a brand of vile racist. Galton, Sanger, Haeckl and many others who formed the worldview foundation of much of today’s Left were vicious and unapologetic partisans to a creed embraced by Nazism. Darwin stated that the more civilized European races would exterminate the more savage races. Hitler an Evolutionist just adapted the idea to his worldview.
Look at the lefts attempts to kill off the black race by legalizing abortion that kills blacks at three times the rate of whites. When you look at the lefts support of legalized drugs which accounts for a large number of murders and other atrocities among blacks then you begin to wonder what is the difference between the American left and Hitler’s Nazis.
