Buddhism, meditation, other non-supernatural and apolitical sources of spiritual fulfillment: Perectly fine.

While a belief in a triune God and a belief in unicorns are equally foolish, there’s a key difference: America isn’t home to a huge number of unicornists whose chief aim is disrupting the proper education of children, interfering in the sex lives of others, aiming to halt or reverse scientific progress, and in general acting like deluded, meddling idiots.

Keep telling yourself that people who recognize Christianity as the purloined and unoriginal heap of trash that it is are threatened and not merely tired of being told what they should do, and maybe, just maybe, it’ll even be true someday.

I know that if you were to tell me you believed in unicorns, I certainly wouldn’t put as much hate, scorn and villification into the issue as you have this one.

Of course, I’m not threatened by people believing in unicorns either.

However, let’s look at whose panties are bunched up over all of this. Is it someone who gets a chuckle out of Christians’ rabid reaction to the potential removal of a cross from public view (”an affront to God-fearing Americans!”), or someone from, say, Oklahoma who can’t seem to let a single remark about the inanity of Christianity pass without complaint? You, my friend, are the one with a horse (tired old nag though it may be) in this race. ‘m just thankful to have grown up in the company of sane parents who weren’t inclined to brainwash me and indoctrinate me using fear and lies.

I bet the “tooth fairy”, “Santa” and the “Easter bunny” have you nearly apoplectic.

For someone who “refuse to worry”, you sure have been battling against it.

God-fearing Americans are an affront not only to non-Christians but to those of us who refuse to worry about imaginary bullies and boogeymen or all stripes. None of the petition-signers could give a rip about the fallen soldiers; all they care about is defending their irrational institution.
