Cha Cha Cha Changes

Posted on March 11, 2006

It has come to our attention that there have been cases of people who have commented on our site having their email boxes over whelmed with emails from us. Let me assure you that is unintentional. There is no one on our side which is sitting in front of the file manager taking down email addresses and physically emailing this information to you. But here’s what really is happening.

Stop The ACLU has added a feature whereby someone who doesn’t wish to leave a comment to a thread BUT still wants to keep up with a conversation on it, can subscribe to that thread. They then will receive emails sent to an address that they provide each time that the thread is updated either by comment or editing change. There has been some accidental subscriptions because of the close proximity to the comment submit button.

Let me assure you, that we have taken steps to correct this. We have inserted spacing between them and added a paragraph of text explaining the subscription abilities for those who wish to subscribe to do so.

Again, it is important for you to know, that although we oppose the ACLU in almost every endeavor that they engage in, we do have respect for the privacy of those who entrust us with their contact information. We NEVER release personal information. Nor do we abuse the use of that information. This corrective step was taken in order that we are not accidentally sending information to those who were not expecting it.

Should you want to receive regular updates from us on BlogBurst information or breaking news, you can be added to our mailing list by contacting Jay or Gribbit. We send those emails out manually and only send them to those who are wishing to receive them.

And as always, thank you for reading Stop The ACLU. We appreciate your attention.

Sincerely,

Jay Stephenson,
President and Managing Director of Stop The ACLU Blog

Gribbit,
Administrator of Stop The ACLU BlogBurst and Stop The ACLU Friday Night Chat
