Update On The Intervening of The ACLU Vs. NSA Lawsuit

Posted on February 20, 2006

Because I reported on this site, which has been deleted now, about a fight between Debbie Shlussel and other bloggers, Debbie has decided to no longer represent stoptheaclu.com in the NSA intervening case. She is still pursuing the case, but no longer wants to represent this site. She asked me to give her a list of all contributors, their contact information, and how much they donated. I did not feel comfortable about giving out this kind of personal information. I decided that the right thing to do would be to contact each of the donators and ask what they wanted done with their money. I informed them that full refunds would be given to whomever wished so. I also said that we could search for another lawyer, or use the money in some other way. All the money is there for refunding. If any person that donated wants their money to go to Debbie, they can be refunded and arrange that with her. This is the most honest way that I can think of to approach this.

Debbie feels that I am lying because I said that she broke the original agreement. While the original intent was to reimburse her for intervening in the case, I felt that each donor should make the decision of whether they wanted their money transferred to another client, or refunded back to them.

Darn. I really wanted to see this intervention get tossed out of court.

I say you are fortunate to find out now rather than later that Ms. Shlussel seems to be preoccupied with politics and personality conflict rather than the cause she is trying to represent.

You really need someone who is not so easily diverted and reveals their ‘Achilles Heel’ so willingly.

I say you are fortunate to find out now rather than later.

And I second that motion. Trust me, this chick needs to stick to her Hollywood reviews.

    Sorry Jay…

Well I just read what she is saying on her blog and I am sticking with Jay on this one.

This woman is as caustic as they come and I didn’t realize that until after the fact. I am surprised that MM associates her name with this person.

Jay, I have complete faith that you did nothing wrong and are certainly entitled to using funds to improve your blog. It is apparent that you would have replaced the funds when the time came to send the money to this woman. She said she would do the law suit for free, last I heard. This person said she would be emailing everybody that following weekend which she did not keep her word. She is looking for an excuse in not keeping her word and is slandering you in the process.

Just wait until she gets mad at Michelle and she will. News at 11.

    Question/

Did anyone hear back from Shlussel as promised here?

Both Michelle and Stop the ACLU have signed on, and Stop the ACLU will be the lead interevener.

I will try to get back to all of you over the weekend and into next week with what is required. I will need everyone’s complete name and contact info (full name, phone number, e-mail address, complete U.S. snailmail address–you must be a U.S. citizen). If you have e-mailed me regarding this, I will respond via e-mail to you over the weekend and into next week, with an affidavit to sign (with notarized signature) and a brief agreement saying you agree to have me represent you in court for this matter and that I will not charge you any fees.

If you have not yet e-mailed but are interested in joining, please e-mail me with the information requested above.

Read more about who is involved in the ACLU Lawsuit and how they are lying.

    I DIDN’T EITHER…

What was the time line for sending her money. Should Jay have sent it when this person had taken no action, not even emailing as she promised?

Thanks Jay for keeping the money safe.

You people better stick with Jay on this one.

    Jay,
I went to her site and posted, asking her to please tell me there was more to her dropping StopTheACLU than just your speaking of the back-and-forth with Misha, because that just sounded really small.

Checked back just now – post deleted.

Heh, she won’t let me post..”post”.

I wanted to respond to her lie that Jay did not respond to those wanting refunds. She says what she wants and cuts off responses or challenges to her lies.

Somebody needs to also tell her the FBI doesn’t make a practice of working with people that say they work with the FBI.

I am so grossed out over this mentally ill woman and how much damage she causes everyday.

    Ewww..

Just went to her site – posted again – got deleted again.

Then I read what she’s saying – if publicly posting statements of you stealing donation money, and stating it as FACT, isn’t defamation, I don’t know what is.

    Hit back, Jay.
