I’m seriously considering doing this on my site as well. Hey Jay I wanted to ask you a favor. I’ll email you tonight.

I’m using WordPress as my blogging backend, and was having a huge spam problem, but a Spam Assassin plugin has virtually eleminated all spam.

No trolls on the other hand…they can still remain anonymous (anybody can creat and use a multitude of anonymous email addresses) if they are so inclined. Luckily, most trolls won’t go through the effort.

I’ve found Spam Karma 2 to be very effective. I’m thinking of punishing trolls with a Troll Cap.

Funny… I got tired of left-wing commies calling me a Nazi even though I’m a Jew (or maybe because of it?), so just this morning I stopped allowing people on my blog to comment.

Sorry to hear the need for this new system… Thankfully, my site is still sufficiently small that it attracts nowhere near enough attention to warrant this level of defense. I hope this cuts down on the nonsense!

    Congratulations!

When you start to have the need to filter out trolls, that must mean you are making an impact.

Nothing like having a “Fan Club”.

    Keep up the good work!

The problem originates with anonymous commenters. Those who use invalid email addresses and provide no links to their own sites. These people come here, make venom filled comments and leave. They may hang around to Be a Pain in the ham for a few days, but they most often disappear.

I for one am opposed to those who comment without having their own forum. A place where we can return the favor. Registered comments are as close to requiring links as we can get. Using this, we have immediate remedy to ban a commenter.

Yes, PETA will use any excuse to further their anti-hunting agenda. But, they were recently caught disposing of animals they had killed in a public dumpster. Seems PETA takes animals as an animal shelter/adoption service and then kills most of them and disposes of them illegally. Like many “Charities” with a radical left political agenda, they have lost their way and are nothing but a partisan political lobbying and pressure group making all the money they can.
