Thanks for not answering the question honestly. How are they bigots? Are you going to call every organiziation with criteria for membership bigots? You know, like NOW, and the Girls Scouts of America?

when the Scouts were open to every citizen, they were an American organization. Now they are fundamentalist Christian organization. They have all the legal rights and protections of all other organizations, especially religious organiations, but they now do not qualify for special favoritism and privileges.

Why are they bigoted? Because they are an organization with criteria for membership? The Girl Scouts are just as bigoted, as is the N.O.W., NAACP, BET Channel…hell, the federal government is bigoted because it only lets naturally born Americans to hold office.

What is it protecting you from by not endorsing Boy Scouts? Patriotism? Christianity? Dignity? Integrity? There is nothing un-Constitutional about what the Boy Scouts have done, or the benefits they have recieved from the federal government. If they are not allowed to give any kind of aid to any organizations that “discriminate”, than most of your liberal leftist groups have just got left out in the cold.

This is garbage. The Scouts are a bigoted organization that has enjoyed government support for decades. Under pressure from the religious right, they have become open about their bigotry. The government has responded by withdrawing their special privileges. The government is required to protect ALL of its citizens, not just the ones rightwingers approve of.

The Boy Scouts are a private organization and can make whatever stupid rules they like. But they should stop expecting special privilges from the government.

“Because Scouting does not admit women or homosexuals…” The Girl Scouts do not admit men! They are not sued. Their philosophy parallels the Boy Scouts. They are not sued.
Scouting is dangerous because it also teaches patriotism. Patriotism is dangerous to the ACLU and its ilk. Patriots keep their eyes and ears open to prevent a power grab. The ACLU operates in stealth mode and hates vigilance.
This is another example of the danger that the ACLU presents to the American way of life.
